The frequency and risk factors associated with the development of knee and hip osteoarthritis of the intact limb after unilateral lower limb amputation at PIPOS Bannu.

Objective: To determine the frequency and risk factors associated with development of osteoarthritis knee hip joints intact limbs after unilateral amputation lower extremities PIPOS Bannu. Study Design: Cross Sectional. Setting: Pakistan Institute for Prosthetics Orthotics (PIPOS). Period: June 2019 to November 2019. Material & Methods: The presence (OA) was determined by a standardized questionnaire, primarily based on laboratory tests/physical examination. Participants were evaluated experts who diagnosed symptomatic OA using structured questionnaire joint tests American College Rheumatology (ACR) clinical standards. Individuals tested positive rheumatologist, checked ACR criteria confirm diagnosis. Results: A total 150 patients included in study. Data is analyzed SPSS 21. average age 38.12 ± 14.82 years. Of patients, 131 (87.3%) male 19 (12.7%) female. According degree amputation, 79.3% (n = 119) traumatic 20.7% 31) non-traumatic limbs. incidence 9.3% (9.3% men 0.0% women) 4.0% (2.7% 1.3% women), both osteoarthritis. 2.7% (2.0% 0.7% women).
